Imprecatory Prayers

I've been thinking a lot about this. As a believer, I didn't pay much attention to it, I guess, but there are places in the Bible where prayers are offered as to the destruction or judgement of enemies.


On a personal level, I wished that I had access to this kind of thing in recent weeks. Two different personalities I deal with in my work world need a good smack of Heavenly judgement. I can get along with just about anyone, really, but sometimes there are just those people to whom I wish would just leave my existence. And usually I don't wish any specific harm on anyone, but maybe it's just gone too far in these cases (I'll spare the details, but it creates a bad working environment and some amount of mental anguish on my part).



I'm not one to run to tattle and not one to confront, so I'm left with what the only option I used to have was. And I have really been keen on the Karma idea lately.

And then....



I think about the idea of praying for those who are awful (I'm paraphrasing) and the totally different mindset that invokes in me. I'm a bit of both right now. Vengeful, yet wanting to be on the higher ground.
