Being Christlike

I recently listened to a two part podcast featuring a blogger that I follow. They talk about his becoming an atheist and I find so much that I resonate with as far as my own experience. It's  an interesting couple of hours, so go check it out.


One thing that stood out was the way that the podcast host (the brother of podcast guest) spoke about Christ-likeness and how it really had very little to do with belief. He himself a very progressive Christian was not worried about doctrine or right ordinances, or hell, but on action.



I think again today about that sheep and goats passage in the book of Matthew. Jesus tells some that thought they were his to take a hike and others to enter the kingdom that didn't even know that they were serving him. It's interesting.



I find in my new situation, out in the world more that I had been while at home raising the little ones that a great many people profess to know and follow him, but their actions would seem quite otherwise. On the other hand, I know those who don't believe and are more kind, generous and loving than those who are sporting crosses on their necks.
